Kat Kelly – As I write this it’s early Fall, but it’s hotter than wasabi here in the American southland. I have been saddled a bit by a combination of writer’s block, a.d.d., and a whole mess of stuff happening. As a matter of fact, it seems like things are just heavy these days universally.
Things seemed so heavy that we took a break and headed to the glorious, Dollywood a couple of weeks back. We cannot wait to go back. You have no idea how much we love it there. I could go on and on about Dollywood. Truthfully, I was never even a Dolly Parton fan. Well, other than the cinematic classic, ‘9 to 5’ from the late 70’s. Man, I love that movie. You really must watch it. Even if you’ve seen it a thousand times.
In an effort to lighten things up, I’m looking at this as an affirmational post. So, aside from the most magical place on Earth (ahem, Dollywood), I am digging deep into my personal arsenal so I can share the goodness that surrounds us.
Pumpkins. I feel like social media has been very good to pumpkins. Now, I’ve been a fan for a very long time and I’m just happy that they are finally getting their day in the sun. Nowadays, as soon as the calendar hits September, the pumpkin madness begins. Pumpkins, my friends, it’s been a long time coming!
Chickens. We tried to become urban farm-girls. But, with two kids under one, a job, two startup businesses, and life; well, it was just a bit much for us right now. But, we’ll be back and are forever grateful to CityChick here in the Atlanta-metro for turning us onto all the goodness of our feathered friends. I wish every city had such a cool company.
Our kitchen. I know you could probably care less about our kitchen, but we are redoing a few things to hip it up a bit. We are pretty excited. Want to know tips and tricks that we are learning in the process? Feel free to Tweet us @vexteo or hit us up on Facebook.
So, I don’t think I did too bad considering my writer’s block is smacking me upside the head. With that in mind and since Dolly is the recurrent theme here. I haven’t read it yet, but imagine our thrillation (new word) when we received her book, ‘Dream More’ in the mail. Not only does it look inspiring, but there is plenty of space between each line of copy and it’s a pretty thin book. Sounds like it is going to be right up this a.d.d. girl’s alley.
Until next time, look for the good stuff…..
